Goodmorning roleplayers!

We would love to have you around and telling stories in our already ever-evolving world. Come have some fun!

Used to be a fun place to rp. Housing is great. You can buy furniture and place it. Kitchen appliances work for crafting food. But they started adding and changing things that really diminished the QOL. For example, food spoiling. You cook food and store it in a fridge and it goes bad a few days later. Fridges do nothing to stop the degrading, so cooking food and meal prepping became a useless thing to do. Money and the economy became extremely unbalanced to the point dev was suggesting parking fees of $15,000 per day per car at one point. Staff became very disconnected from its roleplayers and they still are. The micromanagement and “thumb pressing down” on its people is insane here. For example, pressing F5 shows how many people are in server. Staff deemed it power gaming to press F5 because they dont want you seeing you are the only person in server. I mean you can literally see that info when you log in from fivem anyways but, they gotta press that thumb down. Staff will act before consulting you. I had a friend who was on his homeless character searching dumpsters in PB switch to his biker character in vespucci and search a dumpster before going inside his apt. becuase he was on two different characters it flagged and staff pocket wiped his homeless character. They pulled him into a ticket and he explained he was not exchanging items he was in two different areas. Staff said “oops I see you are correct, do you remember what your homeless guy had on him.” Pulling him into the ticket before wiping the character would have avoided the mistake by staff, but they dont do that here. Which is why this server is in the state that it is in.

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts, CivAaronP.

We appreciate feedback, both positive and critical, because it gives us a chance to clarify, improve and evolve.

Parking fees were an idea floated during a time of heavy inflation as a possible economic sink. It was never fully implemented and was dropped after clear feedback from the community. We use public votes and feedback forms for most major decisions, but sometimes we make balance changes directly when something is being used in ways that weren’t intended, especially when it impacts fairness.

Food degradation was introduced as part of a survival balance that ties into farming, crafting and restaurant RP. We understand not everyone engages with that system, but it has been adjusted based on feedback. Business fridges do extend expiration time and are useful for meal prep and storage.

F5 is not against the rules by itself. What matters is how the information is used. Using it to metagame or avoid consequences is not okay. Using it for things like bug reporting or system checks is fine.

On the dumpster situation, we track all item movement, including the metadata of who dropped what and where. Dropping an item in a dumpster on one character and picking it up with another is considered cross-character item transfer. That falls under metagaming and is clearly against the rules (see here). These flags are based on data, not guesses. Staff do reach out when things are flagged, and if there’s a mistake, we try to make it right. But the rule is long-standing and clear.

PRP is always growing and adapting. No server is perfect, but we care deeply about what we build here and the people who choose to be part of it. If you’re new and looking to join a good semi-serious RP server, we’re always open to fresh perspectives and new faces.

Im not trying to be ugly or do a back and forth here but just wanted to clairfy the dumpster situation. He was on a homeless character searching dumpsters in one area of the server. He logged off that character and logged into his biker character. With his biker character he searched dumpsters outside his bikers apt, completely different dumpsters than that of his homeless character. Giving his homeless character items would defeat the purpose of that character and is something he never did. Staff did eventually verify he did not share items and was in fact two separate dumpsters.

So, they wiped his homeless character of all his stuff BEFORE bringing him into a ticket. They brought him into the ticket to tell him his character had been wiped and why. Once they verified their mistake, staff offered to give him his characters stuff back. He couldnt remember all his character had because it was a homeless character that had a lot of random stuff. I will say he wasnt pressed about this, and kind of laughed it off.

But my point is, staff should have pulled him into a ticket and said “hey we got this flag, we are gonna be wiping this character because of XYZ.” He could have then gotten with staff and had then verify it was two separate dumpsters and no cross character meta happened. Then they would not have wiped his character by mistake. I mean you are pulling him into a ticket anyways, why not wait and hear both sides first? A side homeless character is no big deal to him, but handling mains like that will be upsetting and deter people from using the server. Its unbalanced management. Hope you have a great day.

That dumpster flag you describe sounds like it happened some time ago. Our goal has always been to open a ticket, review the data, hear both sides and then take action. If that process wasn’t followed exactly in this case, we regret any frustration that caused.

We really do care about fair play and good RP for everyone. Thank you for helping us improve.

Production has been my home for the past 2 years and I love it every day. The Community is amazing the devs are the best and the Staff team is incredible at their job! I couldn’t recommend a more perfect place to roleplay!

Would love to see this come back in full force with a refresh of everything and everyone starting out in even fields. I think it will repopulate things and reinvigorate players to come back and start with everyone else.
I miss playing Production. My only gripe is when I’m around there aren’t many people and I don’t get much RP / if any with the current population. Any plans on restarting fully with 2.0 and doing that?

Production has been a fantastic place for doing businesses and even non-business partnership of sorts with local jobs like Go Postal. It may seem boring, but you make your own fun with it. Striker’s deliveries are a fantastic opportunity to get a needed boost to funds while doing what you normally do on shift and a good way to meet people in gang territories as a neutral entity (and occasionally poke random fun with /me commands for sus package delivery for a laugh)

I am the kind of person to intentionally condemn myself to mundane tasks like Water and Power. Literally the same thing over and over. Go to place, check thing, repeat until finished. Move to next place.
I decided to take it upon myself to “work on” traffic boxes, go to businesses and maintain their electricals, etc. I wouldn’t mind other tasks and locations be mixed into the Water and Power task list Job XP does have a close cap, at that time it is just a dedication goal to see how big the number gets.

I personally don’t mind if yes, buy things from the markets, but it would be more lucrative if people who main farming simulators would really make things work with food businesses by farming in Grapeseed and the vinyards (Yes, the vinyards do do it. Just adding it in =p) and selling WAY more than what you normally would get at the markets. Speaking of which, Getting packages of items like burgers and bacon packs is a real slog (and there are no oranges by the way for orange juice) and would be a huge help to be able to get multiples of them instead of just one at a time when you have to scroll and search after every single purchase.

Naturally, there are things I am unaware of, I mainly play civilian style, I enjoy it even if I don’t run into people as often as a crim. I can confirm that even though civilian jobs aren’t nearly as lucrative as crim, it isn’t crippling (unless it is Water and Power. Literally a droning slog I do to relax.) My real party is Go Postal and Taxi.

There are times where people do some real vindictive RP which kills the all desire to bother getting on and even co-workers quit the server because of how aggressively consistent they are even saying that that is what we are here for so just submit. Thankfully, the bullcrap ended after a month and finally we can get back to having some fun and things were great.
Despite all that, My 3+ years on this server has been great and I don’t plan on leaving any time soon. I am kind of oblivious as to why people left, I only hear rumor that it was because of the food system that food doesn’t become immortal in the vending machine. Personally, making hundreds of food just to get it done with kind of defeats the purpose of the vending machines. It is a good system and cooks shouldn’t be annoyed with having to cook every day and distribute product. That is just me though. If that is the reason, I don’t understand the problem. If it is another reason, I have no clue.

I went on a bizarre tangent, I have no clue where I was going with it, but hey. I enjoy Production RP. I hope more people check this server out.

Server is getting back into the swing of things. Wonderful staff, very responsive and engaging with players. Holiday events going on right with spooky Halloween. PD and EMS are well established and requires effort. Gang RP isn’t toxic garbage.

I love this city. Stop on in and say hey Discord.

Sadly the community has been deteriorating for a while now, staff did not listen to their players and decided to kick out players who were dedicated to keeping the server alive during times where players did not want to play anymore for the reason listed below.

Now the server went from 200+ players constantly with a huge queue to having about 4-10 players during EU times, most of the people still playing have befriended staff and were involved in kicking out the dedicated players.

If you want something for your gang, be prepared to wait 6 months+ to get approved to then wait another 4 months+ to get a piece of clothing or MLO and rather than updating their scripts and adding new and exciting features they like to just push new cars onto you.

Then on the topic of Gang Wars, let’s say you have a fight with another gang because the other gang started the war, you win the war with huge numbers and the only way you want to end the war is if the other people say “Sorry” the admin team will step in, spawn in items for the other gang including millions of dollars and weapons just so the other gang doesn’t have to say “Sorry” so if you want to become millionaires, win a war against friends of the staff team.

I played on this server years ago when it was booming and populated. 200 players online, a 50+ person queue, and a pretty decent community. I came back two-ish months ago hoping things had improved and looking to start a MC club. Things haven’t improved.

Updates (or lack of)

The server hasn’t seen a meaningful update in over a year+. The last “major” one was a crime update that, ironically, removed more heists and activities than it added. For a roleplay server to stay alive, the world has to grow, there has to be constant development, and Production has been standing still for a long, long time. GTA RP is a grind, it’s an old game now, it needs some help to keep people interested. Strong development is so important nowadays.

Economy is beyond Cooked

A crypto exploit was left unaddressed for far too long, and by the time anything was done about it, the damage was permanent. Nearly every established player is sitting on millions and millions of dollars along with every house and car they could ever want. This completely ruins any sense of progression or economic tension on the server.

New Player Experience is Brutal

Starting fresh? Good luck. Nearly every starter job from scrapping, bus driving, and to farming is broken or riddled with issues and overall un-fun design wise. Everything needs a major overhaul. The only halfway decent money maker available to new players is hunting. Your real options are: grind hunting solo, or get handed drugs from a stacked gang. That’s it. There’s no middle ground, and no real path forward unless someone already established decides to literally carry you.

Gangs are Untouchable

Established gangs have stockpiled hundreds of Class 1 and Class 2 weapons alongside tens of thousands of every drug type. There’s no reason for them to keep grinding or doing things, no competition, and no real risk. The power gap between new and old players is crazy. You will never be able to compete with any of the established gangs. We gave up on our idea of starting a Club when we realized this.

The Devs Don’t Play Their Own Server

The owner/lead dev has logged roughly 30 hours in the past few months. The development team carries a noticeable ego about building on a “custom framework,” but that attitude doesn’t translate into a better product or player experience. You can’t build a world you don’t live in.

For example, while they brag and boast about being on a “Custom Framework”; The Phone? Outdated, clunky, and miles behind any other server. The Inventory? A PITA the deal with. No ability to fast move items, no auto stacking of items, no easy way to split items - nothing. Public civ jobs? Nonexistent and frustrating to deal with to say the least. Criminal experience? Extremely basic and bare bones - and not even worth the effort. This server is primarily Civ and heavily LEO orientated. Hostile roleplay is generally not accepted from what I’ve heard.

Report Culture and Staff Problems

The community atmosphere is depressing. Instead of encouraging in-character resolution, staff actively push players to file reports for everything. The result is a playerbase that walks on eggshells constantly and it holding back roleplay, causing you to basically second-guess every decision in fear of getting points or banned.

Staff culture flows from the top down, and the top is the problem. Management needs a serious overhaul. Specific members in leadership positions (notably the character “Freya”) have contributed to an overall environment that is hostile rather than constructive.

You Will Be Punished for Having an Opinion

This server used to be in the conversation as one of the best FiveM RP servers out there. That changed when players were banned for openly criticizing an update. The fallout was brutal; bans, mass departures, and a community that still to this date (1 and a half years later) hasn’t fully recovered. The message sent was clear: dissent isn’t tolerated.

Police W-Mentality

The police operates with one of the worst win-at-all-costs mentalities I’ve encountered on any server. RP takes a backseat to “getting the arrest”. Good luck coming up with a story or trying to work your way out of something - the police will nickpick every little detail and hole and never go along with a story. It makes any crim roleplay frustrating and turns every interaction into “Get in vehicle and run” instead of trying to go with a story.

The DOJ is a Ghost

If you’re hoping for any meaningful legal roleplay, don’t bother. The Department of Justice is essentially non-functional. There are maybe 3 lawyers on the entire server (None which are actually active), court cases take months upon months to see any movement whatsoever, and realistically? They just don’t happen. On PRP, the DOJ is a checkbox on a website that doesn’t exist in practice. Classic example of the Discord RP That takes place. Notice the tone, even though staff made a mistake - they will still make it your fault.

TLDR

Stay away. What was once a top tier server has decayed into a toxic, stagnant environment run by staff who prioritize control over community. Egotistical leadership, a broken economy, no meaningful updates. PRP’s culture is on a foundation of fear. The staff killed their own server, that’s all you need to know. Find a different server, this one isn’t worth your time.
