Port Forwarding Question

listen…im like a NOOB to the fivem thing.
i got my server up and running localhost and that’s great.
my family has elected that I shouldn’t port forward on the router because of “hacking risks”?
If I were to just buy a router off amazon. could I connect to my personal wifi network, while still using an ethernet cable to connect to the other router. Then port forward my server to my friends while still using my own wifi. And would I be able to port forward with JUST the router, with no services or anything.

No you still need to port forward on your internet facing router. Depending on the router you can forward ports to a specific internal ip or your fivem server and if running windows you need to port forward on your firewall which you can also restrict to certain external ips if you wanted.

Thanks! :+1:
