MJ-Herbs

Eagle Eye Herb Gathering System for RedM / VORP

MJ-Herbs is an immersive herb detection and harvesting system built for RedM / VORP servers that want more than a basic item pickup script.

This resource transforms herb gathering into a more immersive gameplay loop using Eagle Eye scanning, native visual effects, timed harvesting, weighted rewards, and configurable profession bonuses.

Players do not simply walk over a plant and receive items instantly.
They must activate Eagle Eye, scan the area, identify the herb, approach it, and complete the collection process.

That makes the system feel more natural, more rewarding, and much better suited for roleplay or progression-based environments.

Features

  • Eagle Eye-based herb scanning
  • Native glow / aura / tint visuals for detected herbs
  • Timed harvesting system with on-screen progress bar
  • 50 meter scan radius
  • 15 second harvesting duration
  • Uses native Eagle Eye control flow
  • Weighted reward setup per herb
  • Job-based bonus chance support
  • Bonus item support for better discovery and rewards
  • Server-side reward validation
  • Inventory carry check before reward payout
  • Performance-focused refresh logic
  • Full English language pack included
  • Clean shared config layout for easy editing
  • VORP Core + VORP Inventory integration

Included Herb Content

The resource comes with 20 configured herb entries, including:

  • Blueberry
  • Indian Tobacco
  • Oregano
  • Basil
  • Agarita
  • Creeping Thyme
  • Milk Weed
  • Crow’s Garlic
  • English Mace
  • Hummingbird Sage
  • Oleander Sage
  • Desert Sage
  • American Ginseng
  • Alaskan Ginseng
  • Red Raspberry
  • Red Sage
  • Black Currant
  • Bitter Weed
  • Evergreen Huckleberry
  • Wild Rhubarb / Wintergreen Berry

How It Works

  1. Player activates Eagle Eye
  2. Nearby configured herbs are scanned
  3. Valid herbs become highlighted with native-style visuals
  4. Player approaches the target herb
  5. Player holds the collect button to harvest
  6. Server validates the request and gives the final reward

The system also supports:

  • job-based discovery bonuses
  • item-based discovery bonuses
  • item-based reward amount bonuses

This gives server owners more freedom to connect the script with professions, economy systems, crafting, survival gameplay, or herbalist roleplay.

Why This System Stands Out

Most herb systems are simple and instant.

MJ-Herbs is designed to feel more immersive and more valuable inside the world.

Instead of turning gathering into a trivial action, it adds:

  • visibility and discovery
  • timing and interaction
  • configurable progression hooks
  • native-style visual feedback
  • better RP and economy potential

This makes herb collection feel like an actual activity, not just a background mechanic.

Configuration

The resource is separated into clean files for easier editing:

  • shared/config.lua
  • shared/language.lua
  • shared/visuals.lua
  • shared/rewards.lua
  • shared/controls.lua
  • shared/jobs.lua
  • shared/plants.lua

You can easily customize:

  • prompts and system messages
  • herb visuals and aura effects
  • reward items and reward weights
  • job bonuses
  • bonus helper items
  • herb definitions and models
  • cooldowns and scan timing
