NetworkSetTalkerProximity doesn't work

So I have the below in a resource (I found it somewhere on this forum) but it just doesn’t work, no matter where I am on the map I can still hear other people. NetworkIsPlayerTalking( GetPlayerServerId( v ) ) seems to work fine on my scoreboard. Any help would be appreciated!

AddEventHandler(‘onClientMapStart’, function()

Do you use a map? As that event doesn’t trigger without one setup.

I don’t, is there something else I can tie into to get it working?

playerActivated, or when they first spawn
