Matching older versions

Can I fit my mod to all versions of gamebuild?
Since there have been complaints that some items from the new versions don’t appear in the old versions…

What do you mean exactly?

There are items that only work in new versions of gamebuild
If you run the resource on an older version, they simply won’t work
Is there any solution to this problem, in addition to installing a new version?

And what ‘items’ and gamebuild versions are causing this issue?

For example, I put items from the Contracts update (gamebuild 2545) in the interior. A person who has an update “MP Tuners” (gamebuild 2372) will not see these items…

If you use the gamebuild 2545, all of the players should see those items?

Dude, you probably don’t know what we’re talking about

Ummm…

Pretty sure he knows more than you, you just didn’t explain it very well. So please don’t be rude.
Now here’s your answer…

You can stream the custom props/objects (stop calling them items and people might understand you). This means you won’t have to update the gamebuild of the server for everyone to see them. For example, a number of Diamond Casino scripts stream props from the Cayo Perico DLC (or whatever it’s called) but on an older gamebuild. Streaming them adds them to the game for everyone.

So in answer to your question;

Yes. Stream the props, if you don’t wish to upgrade your server’s gamebuild.

But why wouldn’t you want to update? Is it the YMT limit? There are ways around that. The whole point of newer versions are bug fixes and more content. Why would you refrain from updating and manually stream this new content, instead of just updating?

I am sitting on the new version, but many of my customers stayed on the old version.

Tell your ‘customers’ to use the new gamebuild if they want to use your resources.

Also, FiveM resources can only be sold through Tebex.

There’s a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication here.

From what I understand, OP is a mapper who sells maps to customers that own FiveM game servers. Some of the objects he uses in his mappings are only available in later builds because as we all know, newer game builds bring in new items, vehicles etc. So he’s asking whether there’s anything he can do for his customers who are not utilising the same game build as him for their game servers.

To answer your question @GreenBeerg_21, no, there’s not much you can do for your customers who are not using the same game build as you, except to inform them that they’ll need to be running the same game build as you in order for your mappings to work for them.

Indeed. Because OPs almost never provide enough information… It drives me insane. Usually the assumption made is that they are a server owner, but as they FINALLY mentioned the word “customers” we now know they are referring to clients buying his maps.

Not exactly. You could include these props in a resource, along with the map files. As long as you have all the necessary stuff like a manifest, etc. it should be just fine. Or you could just include a note in each release about what is the latest gamebuild needed for the props used in that map. But the answer is YES, there is an alternative to upgrading their gamebuild. Streamed assets. New stuff that came after the gamebuild used can be streamed and work just fine in older builds. In this case, just include a note saying that the assets need to be streamed if the customer’s build is older than X.

I was thinking the same thing, by the way.
But what if it increases the size of the resource significantly.

But I get it. Just ask people to change the gamebuild :upside_down_face:

It is not really ideal to do that, but there’s many maps out there (think MLOs) that are an absolute ton in storage, but people still buy/download and use - I guess it depends on the type of customers you’re selling to.
