Local LAN IP is blocked? Crashing on direct connect 10.0.0.X IP

What did you do to get this issue? Tried to join own server with LAN IP

The server is on a linux client on my network, i.e. not localhost
server is hosted on 10.0.0.X, when trying to connect it crashes

Clearly there is a connection to the server but it still does 3 attempts and fails

Ok I found out it is working to connect to my server using a VPN, so technically outside of my LAN i am able to connect to the server. Is there a way around this? I can’t enter the LAN IP in direct connect because it is not licensed to that IP… but that is how one would normally go about…

To what IP are you trying to connect?

… what? That makes no sense.

Sounds like a potential host file issue… can you post the contents of your hosts file?

He didn’t put all the info in the topic, but he showed/told me on discord: He was trying to enter his local IP to connect to his server, but it was giving him the message saying GSPs are blocked. He said the only way he could connect was through a VPN then back to his external IP.
