Previously working just last week, regularly play on nopixel.
I have done no updates to my GTA5 files for months in terms of mods, config etc.
Today I fired up fivem and it downloaded an update.
After the update it then started scanning various files in gta5 which it normally doesnt do on startup, and now insists I have some kind of cache problem.
You want me to start installing mods? Weird advice.
Logically if its working, then fivem updates and it stops working, then fivem is the culprit, especially when others have popped up saying the same thing.
Reinstalled GTA V (via Steam) even though verified the game like 10+ times and all was ok.
Still get the same error message when trying to install FiveM.
6 hours and 30 minutes later. No fix
same issue.
Yes checked everything, Yes tried everything.
I have rebooted the PC as expected its made no diffference.
So to clarify
Steam version of game and up to date in terms of the latest update available to steam.
Reinstalled/downloaded and files verified ok on steam files verifier.
Worked fine up until the latest fivem update.
Now on every startup it is checking 3 gta5 files, gta5launcher, update.rdf and patchday17ng, it then says the cache is outdated and shuts down.
Seems to me there is a file verification bug of some sort, can you please kindly post the full changelog for the latest fivem update?
When was the ‘last time it worked fine’? Over a week ago? This is related to R*/Valve doing something weird in their latest game update, nothing to do with recent FiveM changes.
The weird thing is that it’s none of the obvious things, yet it started to happen for a lot of people right when R* released 1.43.
Normally it’d be something related to files having changed, but people who did upload their file hashes showed that none of the hashes changed at all…
What happens if you delete FiveM.app/cache/game/cache.dat?
R* updated this file (belonging to 1.42) for Steam players updating to 1.43, but not SC version players.
We’re going to submit a compatibility fix to the build bot shortly, this might take a while as currently the system only supports one single hash for a file.
