Issue with Asset Transfers: 28-day window not resetting upon re-purchase

Hi everyone / Dear Cfx.re Team,

I wanted to politely bring up a small issue regarding the Keymaster/Portal asset transfer system that is currently causing some unexpected problems for us.

According to the official support article (https://support.cfx.re/hc/en-us/articles/16539411062044-How-to-transfer-assets-on-Portal):

“You can only transfer assets once and only within 28 days of purchasing an asset or claiming a free asset. Once assets are transferred, the change cannot be reversed.”

This rule is totally understandable. However, we have noticed that if you re-purchase the exact same asset (for example, buying a second license of it), the 28-day timer does not reset. The system seems to only recognize the very first purchase date.

Because of this, if you buy the asset again today, you are instantly locked out of transferring it, even though it is technically a brand-new purchase. This is causing a bit of a headache for legitimate situations where an asset is bought a second time specifically to be transferred to another account.

Could you guys look into this? Is this intended behavior or perhaps a bug in how the system reads the purchase dates? It would be incredibly helpful if the 28-day timer could apply to the specific transaction rather than the initial first purchase of the package.

Thank you in advance for your time and all the hard work you put into the platform!

Best regards

Why don’t you buy the resource directly on the account you need it on? Buying it for the sole purpose to transfer seems unnecessary.

This is a problem with the entire “licensing” system that’s used by Cfx.

It basically has been stated from day one that you cannot have more than one license. So even if you buy a second one, you only keep the “old” one.

“Fun” fact: If you buy a second license for a resource (either by accident or whatever) and realise your mistake and you ask for a refund, the original license will be removed from your account, leaving you with no license.

I have no idea how there hasn’t been an upgrade to this arguably bad system that only leads to problems for customers (and sellers).

this doesnt help

How does buying the resource in the acccount its intended to be used on, not help?

People are making this way to complicated. Being able to transfer assets is made available for mistakes and other unique cases, not as a way to do commerce or trades.

What happens if you join a community and maybe purchased an asset 25 days ago, and send them the asset only to find out it was a scam. What if you stsrt your own server and really liked that asset and get stuck in this loop? Your answer is based on a specific assumption and doesnt address the broader issue within the system causing data comprehension issues. Something is wrong with the communication inside cfx.re. so as stated, your answer does nothing for the big picture.

Everything you mentioned is easily resolved if people understand they are purchasing assets for themselves to use for themselves.

I’m not really sure what point you are trying to make? That the community you transferred the asset to was a scam and you want it back which was never an option before this change?

Or the asset itself was a scam which would be a Tebex issue and not related at all to the transfer system.

Again, if you transferred something to another server and want that asset back. You will just have to repurchase it which has also not changed. If you are complaining about the current issue where you can’t repurchase an asset you’ve transferred, that is different and again, unrelated to the current change.

I have no idea what data comprehension means in this context. It’s not a specific assumption, it’s how the system is intended to be used.

Nothing is wrong with the big picture. The big picture is to prevent people’s accounts from being hacked and assets being stolen. If you don’t think that is an issue or the bigger picture, I’d suggest taking a step back and thinking beyond your highly specific cases to how the community at large works.

Why not buy assets all in one account? …

That’s literally what I said, multiple times.
