Description

RedMapForge is a browser-based editor for the Red Dead Redemption 2 map. You draw your own towns, roads, railways, borders, buildings and labels directly onto the map, watch a live preview that matches the in-game rendering at both zoom levels, and export a ready-to-use RedM resource folder. No tool chain, no image editor, no manual .ytd work - everything runs in the browser.

With RedMapForge, your server’s map can finally match your server: label your player towns, redraw the roads your community actually rides, add the railway you built, and hand players a map that shows their world instead of the stock one.

A note on assets: RedMapForge ships no Rockstar assets. You export the minimap tiles from your own game installation (for example with CodeX) and upload them to your own workspace. The editor works on your files, and the export contains your own tiles with your edits applied - nothing is redistributed.

Features

  • Live in-game preview: the editor renders through a port of the game’s own map shader, so what you see while editing is exactly what renders in game, at both zoom levels
  • Text labels with fonts matching the stock map, free rotation, and curved text that follows an arc like the stock river labels
  • Line presets for roads, small roads, dirt tracks and railways, calibrated against the stock map so they blend in at both zoom levels
  • Region and state border presets with the stock dash patterns
  • Buildings as rectangles, presets or free polygons, with terrain shading like stock buildings - corners can even be typed in as in-game coordinates
  • Station markers, PNG stamps, pen and eraser (white-out or restore the original)
  • Layers panel with groups, multi-select, and copy/paste - including across projects
  • Grid, rulers, guides and snapping
  • Real-time collaboration: build one map together with your team
  • Community Library: publish your map as a template, or start from another creator’s work
  • Optional Mexico extension: additional drawn artwork that opens the map southward
  • Blip creator: replace individual minimap blip sprites and export them as a separate resource
  • One-click export: a drop-in resource folder

How it works

  • Export the minimap tiles from your own game installation and upload them once
  • Edit in the browser, alone or with your team
  • Export a finished resource folder and drop it into your server’s resources

Use cases

  • RP servers that want their custom towns, roads and landmarks on the actual in-game map
  • Server teams that maintain their map together and iterate on it over time
  • Mapmakers who want to share their work as templates through the Community Library

A customizable map was the last touch we needed for our server to show all the new MLOs! Fantastic product and very easy to use! Highly recommend!
