I’m encountering a looping identity‑switch error on my Cfx.re account.

What is the issue you’re having?

I’m encountering a looping identity‑switch error on my Cfx.re account.

When I try to set my Steam‑linked identity as default license inside FiveM client:

  1. It pops up “Steam Ownership Verification Required”.
  2. I complete Steam login authorization from the FiveM‑launched browser window using the correct linked Steam account.
  3. Right after Steam authorization completes, I get error: “License ID Change Failed. Please try again.”
  4. Manual opening idm.cfx.re in standalone browser returns message: “Please open the application from FiveM/RedM”.

Relevant identifiers:
• Current default license2 ID: [license:7f49327f90e5404cd1fa4b3507e25356e30e4b57]
• Target Steam‑linked identity license2 ID: [110000104eb7cbd]
• My SteamID64: [76561198888490751]
Cfx.re account email: [102408104@qq.com]

What I have already attempted to resolve this:

  1. Deleted %localappdata%\DigitalEntitlements folder.
  2. Removed ros_id.dat, ros_auth.json and cleared cache / server‑cache inside %appdata%\CitizenFX.
  3. Restarted PC, fully relaunched Steam and Rockstar Games Launcher.
  4. My Steam profile is set to Public.
  5. I run FiveM as normal user (NOT administrator), to avoid protocol‑callback failure.
  6. Tried triggering identity switch entirely inside FiveM client instead of opening webpage manually.
  7. No VPN / proxy active during authorization process.

The Steam account owns legitimate GTA V copy and is correctly linked to this Cfx.re identity. I cannot switch my default identity at all. Please help resolve this backend binding issue on my account.

Attached are screenshots of the error pop‑ups.

Thank you.
