How does fivem servers work?

Hello i have a real interesting question. How fivem servers work. I want to know more about how things work. I’m doing a small project, I have a fairly old computer and I’m trying to turn it into a server, but I don’t know how fivem servers work and whether my computer will fail. I know how to set up a hosted server, but I wonder what the servers do, what the servers do and what the player’s computer already does. It would be fun to get an answer. My old pc specs - intel Centrino duo core 2.50ghz. 4gb ram. ATI radeon HD 3470.

Non OneSync server the FXServer hardly does anything other than authentication stuff and any DB interaction for example. This requires close to no resources. Your specs will likely be fine.

However, Using OneSync the server knows the state of the game world (where players are, where vehicles are and so on) thus requiring a lot of resources to keep track of states. You won’t be able to use that with those specs (likely).

seems better than a zap hosting game server so you should be good for a non onesync server

thank you

One more question, can it run on windows 7 64bit system? My old pc cant run fx server, so i am trying to run it on a virtual machine

Should be fine FiveM - Server hosting

with these features you will be able to host a fivem server but it probably won’t support many people
