What is the issue you’re having? 100% CPU usage on most RP servers

What are you trying to do? //

What have you tried already to fix the issue? reinstalling FiveM, GTA V, trying softer graphic mods, disabling shadows ingame, lowering all graphic settings

Additional comments

I was wondering if with my CPU it is normal to get 100% cpu usage in game. RP servers run between 40-110 Fps (40 in cities while driving / 110 when near the sea with not many textures to load).

I have ALL graphic settings to minimum, and I constantly get 100% cpu usage while 30/40% gpu usage. I feel like my i5 7500 is bottlenecking hard my GPU even if it ain’t this strong.

What if I swapped cpu with a ryzen5 3600? Would it change my condition? I would like to play RP with decent graphics and constant framerate without freezing or slow loading textures while driving in cities.
PS. My RAM is 3200mhz ready but running at 2400 with XMP 'cause of cpu supporting maximum 2400 mhz

Just wondering - are you able to record and upload a short .etl trace while you’re having 40 FPS? Maybe there’s something we can optimize if the server is hitting a slow point.

Anyway, the i5-7500 doesn’t have that much lower single core performance compared to a Ryzen 5 3600 (~1000 vs. 1300 in Geekbench 5), and two extra cores/HT probably won’t help much if the server is hitting a single-thread bottleneck.

If you can get your hands on a 5600X somewhen (assuming they’ll become available soon enough!) this’ll likely help a lot more (scores of around 1700)… assuming nothing obviously slow shows up in the .etl file.

Ok, I recorded the trace.
Must say that while recording, my in game performance dropped drastically (fps went from 30 to 60).
Then I tried again the same route I did without recording and I got same performance as usual (fps from 50 to 70 with drops on 45-40). In addiction, while I was recording, textures were sensitively slower with loading.
CPU load was permanently on 100%, regardless I was recording or not.
Here’s the .etl:

Ah, I see. Your situation is a bit special as the server you’re playing on uses an external VoIP system which abuses Chromium a lot to send positional updates.

A processor with more cores should help with that.

Well, in conclusion you think that buying a Ryzen5 3600 will help?
A friend of mine which had problems like mine (way more serious tbh) with upgrading to a Ryzen5 3600 now has its cpu PERMANENTLY running between 30-40% usage, with his FPS going from 30-60 to 100+ (he had an i3, that’s why his problems were more serious than mine)

I would like to buy a 5600X but TBH I don’t want to spend that much money

The 3600 should be fine with it being 6 cores 12 threads.
