The command is as such:

setjob (id) (job name) (job grade)

example: setjob 1 police 0

I think you may have been using that wrong?

You are trying to type in a value that doesent exist. Are you sure you added the sql for esx_policejob?

Of course. I would welcome any option that would allow me to change players job without going into the actual db and reseting it.

I have fully operating ESX and PoliceJob.

Do I have to install something else to get this command working?
