[Help] Adding value to database from command

So i’m trying to add a driver license points from ingame command /addpoints but problem is it didn’t update the database for some reason. Both of this coding is in Server side.

/addpoints [playerID] [points]

I know this coding is basic but i’m still fairly new to LUA and hope anyone can help me solve this issue.

I have had my fair share of pain when using SQL commands via lua. First thing, Are you getting any errors in your server console or the client console(F8) when you do this?

If not that suggests the issue is with the statement. Are you sure this function is being called when you do /addpoints? also your function is only expecting the points value to be passed through nothing for the id. Also this isnt going to add points but set it to the value you pass. if you want to add you need to run a sql select for the value, add on what you are adding via the function then write that value back with the update

I would have written this as follows(ignore mistakes i cant currently test it)

now if something like that doesn’t work i would suggest setting the values manually to prove the sql works like this

It still didn’t update the database.

From what i understand it didn’t reach the database but there’s no error on the console and that is my biggest issue.

Well i wanted it to do adding point via function but my knowledge is pretty limited, reason why i replace the value instead of adding it.

So i tried to make it more simpler and redo a bit.

The notification pop out for the Points Added and the value in the database changed to NULL

Try like i said, Set the variables in your code to be static

like this

 ['@driver_license'] = '32',
 ['@identifier'] = 'steam:XXX'

this will tell you if there is issues with the information being passed into the sql code or the sql code itself.

Hmm guessing the value from the command didn’t passed to the event

Solved. From what i know it because the value didn’t pass properly and instead of using event changed to function and make the database update there.
