Having problems passing value from server to clientevent

Hi there folks!

I’m sure it’s something simple, but I’m having a hell of a time figuring out what I’m doing wrong. I’ve got a server event that’s working correctly(returning expected value). I just need to get that true back over to client. The problem I have that whitelisted returns false regardless of what I’m trying to pass through the function.

To clarify the clientevent is triggering, it’s just returning false.

server:

RegisterServerEvent('Anticheat:Whitelist')
AddEventHandler('Anticheat:Whitelist', function(playerId)
	local Source = source
	local deets = getIdentity(playerId)
	if deets.group == 'admin' or deets.group == 'superadmin' or inArray(deets.identifier, config.whitelist) then
		--print('Whitelisted: ' .. playerId)
		TriggerClientEvent('Anticheat:WLReturn', Source, 'true')
	end
end)

client:

RegisterNetEvent('Anticheat:WLReturn')
AddEventHandler('Anticheat:WLReturn', function(wlstatus)
	whitelisted = wlstatus
	if whitelisted == true then
		print ('player is whitelisted.')
	else
		print ('player is not whitelisted')
	end
end)

I am positive that I’m just not understanding how to retrieve the var needed. I’d greatly appreciate the help on figuring out what I’ve done wrong.

how do people keep forgetting to pass a player ID?!

I believe it is because you are passing the client a string but testing for a boolean, try to remove the single quotes from true. TriggerClientEvent('Anticheat:WLReturn', Source, true)
