Getting Vehicle Handling Name

Hello!

I’m developing a script where I want the name of a vehicle in a string. First I thought this would be possible with the native GET_ENTITY_MODEL, but soon after I realized that this native only gave me a hash. So I tried with GET_VEHICLE_HANDLING_FLOAT, but, as the name implies, this native only gives me float values. What I really want is a string and not random numbers, so I can compare it with the string in the server DB. Is there a native for this?

You can use GET_ENTITY_MODEL and then use the model provided with GET_DISPLAY_NAME_FROM_VEHICLE_MODEL this will then provide you with the vehicle display name.

I ended up using a function from esx ESX.Game.GetVehicleProperties but it works that way too. Thanks for the support! =)

I would recommend you to not use ESX functions unless they are providing you some sort of additional callback usage etc… Kezza’s example is the right example If you are trying to get the handling name only.

Thanks for the tip, but in my case I also wanted to get some properties of the vehicle, for example customizations, and the ESX function gives me that.
But what is the problem with ESX functions? Aren’t they good?
I’m still trying to understand programming with esx functions and they seem simple to use, since I’m programming on an esx base.
