I am taking serious thought into running my own FiveM server. I have access to a webserver and can have a database on there etc and wondered if it would be possible to have that run the server for me or does it have to be my machine/a machine with the game installed?
The server does not need to be on a machine with the game installed.
Ok so can you point me in the direction of a tutorial or something that will be better for me to follow?
I have checked YouTube but they just seem to be ones running on their own machines.

I am actually going to be getting https set up on my website so it should be dedicated.
You can’t run a fivem server off of http of a website. The database, sure it’s possible. You need a server, local or one rented.
I also suggest you not doing this, and just gone one of the 1500 servers.
You need to buy either a rented server from zap-hosting.com , a vps (I recommend emperorhosting.com) or a dedicated server. (There are plenty of providers).

Ok so with a dedicated host I assume I would just upload the files and set it up with them like you would do on your machine?
Yeah but a dedicated is not required for a fivem server, a vps runs it fine and is much cheaper.
