I’ll keep it short, there is a solutions system here on the forums, but nothing exists to reward users who take the time out of their days to help others - a few cosmetic badges would do nicely, I imagine.
I’m saying this as a person that has, at the time of writing this post, 152 registered solutions (and probably dozens more that were never marked lol).
I propose the addition of the following three badges:
- First solution (granted to a user upon having their first solution marked as that on any post, besides any posts they created themselves)
- Helpful (granted to a user upon having 10 solutions)
- Solutionist (granted to a user upon having 100 solutions, may be used as a title)
Two other badge names I came up with as alternative options for the last one are “[Solutions] Guru” and “Solutioneer”, but I like the one named above best - including the other options here just in case.
IIRC there was a badge granted at 10 solutions some time ago, however it had a very misunderstandable name and was swiftly removed to avoid issues. The ones proposed above are free of that problem by keeping it unofficial, but also sounding well.
I understand this is a pretty minor thing, however, I don’t doubt that these badges will mean a lot to people like me who voluntarily spend time on these forums, helping others, sometimes for hours per day. Rewarding efforts is always welcome, even if it’s something as small as just a badge and a word next to your profile name
