Servers are unique because they have custom scripts that people spent alot of time and effort on.

i been dev on arma for 6 year i know what is to spent a lot of time and effort and now over 10 week on fivem and its not over. Im talking for the poeple who cannot script but they have the talent to administrate a server the lack of server is way to big right now they need to figure that out, atleast a (EssentialModeRP)

Yeah, except if you do that, the servers’ MySQL/database credentials would be in the server scripts. You should really think this through. Developers do hard work, and the fact that you people want to take their work from them forcefully truly shows how lazy you are.

I’m just going to chime in here.
I’m a developer for a server (one that I’d consider mildly popular) and I completely disagree with forcing servers to release all scripts. As developers, we put hours, even days, into writing scripts, fixing bugs, and expanding upon our work.
To the people who said that the cache should just download server scripts as well: That would reveal database passwords and create a vulnerability to the server.
As a developer, it wouldn’t be very hard to port our server over to another platform.
Also, if I was going to be forced to share my work, I’d only give it up for cash. I honestly don’t care if that is against the TOS (because dafuq?) because it is my intellectual property, not yours, not FiveM’s.

This topic is fucking bullshit. If you want a server with scripts, make it yourself - you don’t need ‘scripts’ to play at all, and forcing people to do so makes no sense at all.
