FiveM crash on startup – legitimacy.dll / KERNELBASE.dll exception

What is the issue you’re having?

Hello,

I am experiencing a crash immediately after launching FiveM. The client closes with an “Exception, unhandled!” error and uploads a crash report automatically.

Crash details:

Crash signature: kernelbase.dll+BFE0A
Modules involved:
KERNELBASE.dll
VCRUNTIME140.dll
legitimacy.dll
Report ID: si-2879c55378ad434aa4e6c68d6347d0d1

legitimacy.dll+208733

The issue happens on startup before joining any server.
I already tried restarting the PC and relaunching FiveM, C++, uninstall FiveM and delete folders in APPDATA but the crash persists.

Any help would be appreciated.

this is a nasty one, but lets help before they actually close the ticket.

KERNELBASE and VCRUNTIME140 in your stack means a missing or corrupt Visual C++ redistributable; reinstall the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 x64, run FiveM as a regular user, and clear your entitlement tokens.
