FiveM community changes: What do you think?

Five m has changed a lot since I last played it I remember jumping on menu based servers and having a bunch of fun now all the servers are esx what do you guys think

what’s that? ^^

are you sure?

There server that have menus like the lamda native trainer there use to be a bunch of them but all the servers I can find now are esx or eco

lambda menu is also a resource. It can be added and used on any server.
which means, servers that run ESX can also have that menu you used to see.
I personally don’t like/don’t use the lambda menu. I created my own.
So it’s all about taste and preference.

Maybe not ‘all’ but certainly a lot. It’s sad, there is hardly any unique game modes on FiveM nowadays, owners are more concerned about their reputation and player base, and it seems like ESX is the most popular approach despite being poorly coded.

If you’re not looking for a roleplay server there’s a couple of fun deathmatch/game mode servers out there. Such as Gun Game and Expeditious Execution, I’ve had some fun playing on Expeditious Execution (which is still being worked on) with a few friends.

It’s also quite sad how the owners/players of these ESX-based servers always, somehow, manage to trace their crashes back to FiveM core as opposed to being related to the framework that server is running. But that’s just funny because hardly any players from servers that run a decent, custom and unique framework come with that attitude.

Yeah I use to play on some servers called cost 2 cost jcrp and highspeed gaming they where fun days but I go look for them now and just see a bunch of esx servers that are really badly made

Not really a resource. Its client

Yep. Sad :sob:

HAHAHA Sooo true. :100:

They still exist, just not as big as they were

:100:

For some people, ESX is better than coding from scratch, maybe because they have no coding knowledge or just lazy to code or not interested because of FiveM ToS §8

alright:) I never used it

I’m not saying using community contributed resources is such a bad idea, what I’m trying to say is that a lot of ESX core and it’s sub-components are poorly coded and cause lots of resource time warnings. Yet developers of ESX and it’s sub-components don’t seem to care and they don’t bother fixing it. They’ve been told so many times, it’s ridiculous. But we can’t force them to fix it, it’s just a liability for the owners of the server.

PRs have been made to ESX core and sub-components in an attempt to improve performance, sadly these PRs were closed due to some weird reasoning and the issues still remained.

Some ESX resources, that were using NUI, had exploits – basically relying on the client to do important checks – which resulted in many servers being effected by this. Seemingly, the ESX developers don’t really care for their framework or improving it. Which is what I really dislike about it.

It also annoys me when people say that ‘FiveM developers hate ESX’ (or similar), when it’s clearly not the case. Instead it’s members of the FiveM community providing criticism because of the poor coding. If I were them I’d be acting on that criticism, regardless of whether it was constructive or not, because I’d want my framework to have a good reputation and be actually useful to others.

That’s honestly just selfish, I don’t have anything to say for this really.

Esx is harder than just enabling client side menus putting a few cop cars in getting cops getting skins and done that is how the old servers where in real simple terms

Didn’t know that I will have to check them out

So true I liked it when you could load up five m there would be a bunch of servers with client side menus enable and you could make your own role play unlike esx where you grind for everything unless the server is good like nopixel

If people where actually able to make good esx servers like nopixel I would love it it would give you freedom well being esx

Please keep all your replies on one post.

Hmmm maybe…

I totally agree. I also witnessed to drama caused by youknowwho.

I know, this is very sad. people now contribute only if there is profit.
I personally made some scripts just by ready the fiveM docs and natives (and i think they should be more documented, especially the natives), i don’t share them because i think that there are not perfect yet to be open to use.

I think they are well documented. Then again you can contribute to them :stuck_out_tongue:
