FiveM cannot validate my GTA V Legacy ownership on Steam.

What is the issue you’re having?

When I launch FiveM, I receive the error “Could not validate game ownership!”

I own Grand Theft Auto V on Steam and I am using the PC Legacy version.

GTA V Legacy launches normally through Steam and I can enter Story Mode without any issues. However, when I launch FiveM, it cannot validate my game ownership.

The issue happens before I can join any server.

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Completely closed Steam, FiveM, and Rockstar Games Launcher through Task Manager.
  2. Logged into the correct Rockstar Games account.
  3. Confirmed that my Steam account owns GTA V.
  4. Launched GTA V Legacy directly through Steam and entered Story Mode before launching FiveM.
  5. Deleted the local Rockstar Games GTA V folders as instructed by Rockstar Support.
  6. Deleted the Social Club and Launcher folders from Documents\Rockstar Games.
  7. Cleared the FiveM cache.
  8. Checked for the DigitalEntitlements folder, but it does not exist on my PC.
  9. Confirmed that Steam and FiveM are not running as administrator.
  10. Checked that my Steam account is linked to my Rockstar Games account.
  11. Reinstalled FiveM.
  12. Verified the GTA V game files through Steam.

The issue still occurs.

What server did you get this issue on?

This issue occurs when launching the FiveM client, before joining any server. It is not related to a specific server.

Additional comments

Rockstar Games Support advised me to contact Cfx.re Support because this issue occurs with the FiveM client.

I have followed all troubleshooting steps provided by Rockstar Support, but the issue still occurs.

I own GTA V on Steam and I am using GTA V Legacy. GTA V launches normally through Steam and I can enter Story Mode, but FiveM cannot validate my game ownership.

I have not been able to join any FiveM server because the error appears when launching the client.

I can provide the FiveM log files if they are required for further investigation.

Please help me determine why FiveM cannot validate my Steam GTA V Legacy ownership.
