Fatal-Error RDR2_b1491.exe+1000

What is the issue you’re having?

I used RedM without any issues 2 days ago.

Now I start Red-M, it starts and in the second it opens it crashes “Early-Exit Trap”.

Fatal-Error RDR2_b1491.exe+1000

Please help

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

I have deleted the cache.
I have reinstalled RedM
I have checked if the Windows Defender blocks the game.
I have changed the Graphic Api from VULKAN to DX12.
I have worked with ChatGpt on the issue for 3 consecutive hours.

Hey! So 7 hours later. I found the sulotion. I figured, it might help someone.

The issue was the Steam Beta.

As soon as I deactivated the Steam Beta, RedM loaded in normally with no crash.

How did I find out?

The errordump provided two small sentences.

One saying “address already in use”.

I check netlist and found out that only so many programms use any port on my pc.

So I deactivated the programms one by one and tried starting. Turns out, it was steam.

But why suddenly?

Apparently a new patch for the Beta, changed the used network port used by the steam web helper. The exact port RedM uses.

I hope that helps everyone, who has this very annoying problem.

Best regards

A recent Steam Client Beta update appears to be causing a new wave of Early-Exit Trap errors for RedM users. If RedM suddenly began crashing, failing to launch, or showing an Early-Exit Trap error, disabling Steam Client Beta Participation has resolved the issue for many users.

There is currently a change to the Steam Overlay on the Steam Beta branch that is triggering Early-Exit Trap errors.

Recommended fix:

  1. Open SteamSettingsInterface.
  2. Set Client Beta Participation to No beta chosen.
  3. Restart Steam and launch RedM again.
