Hi im sorry if this is in the wrong topic but im new to the forums, i have this issue
and im not sure how to fix it, i have re-installed essentialmode and fiddled around with esx and no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You didn’t set your mysql login credentials in your server.cfg
im pretty sure i did. i added the line you where telling other people to add. caused a bigger error

Is that the proper DB credentials? Or did you just copy paste from the interwebs…
its a homehosted server so the db is a default thingo.

Well looks like you didn’t enter the right credentials… not even a username it looks like
i mean, the defualt db username is root
which i did change it to
and nothing happend 
Then enter root in the connection string instead of myqluser

Make sure password and databasename are also set right

What did you enter as host? Maybe just show your whole MySQL connection string again
set mysql_connection_string “server=local;uid=root;password=password;database=fivem”
server should be localhost, password probably empty (or removed)
