It’s because you have to have purchased through R* to play. CFX is working on it atm. trying to find a bypass.

when Redm gets updated do I have to do something like re-download it or does it update itself?

I have been running it like that for years and it fucks with people that’s not use to it. So they don’t like using my PC. lol
Hopefully this alerts everyone, but I found a work around. You have to do it ever time you exit the game but at list you get to play… And I one a copy and have it downlaoded through Rockstar… I do not know if this will hurt your other game downloaded through steam.
