Early Exit trap, using epic games launcher

What is the issue you’re having?

Constant “Early-exit trap” Crash (GTA5_b3258.exe) - Tried clean install & CFG fix

Hi everyone,

I’m completely stuck with a persistent Early-exit trap crash whenever I try to launch FiveM.

Crash Signature: GTA5_b3258.exe+1068 (sometimes endings vary like +1000 or +1028).

Despite all of this, the game still triggers the exact same early-exit trap error immediately upon startup.

Does anyone have a solution or know what could be causing this block at the OS level? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What have you tried already to fix the issue?

Deleted the entire cache and data folders (keeping only game-storage).

Verified the integrity of my GTA V game files via my launcher (Vanilla GTA V works perfectly fine).

Completely uninstalled and did a 100% clean reinstall of FiveM into a new folder.

Turned off Discord Overlay and closed all background apps (MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner, etc.).

Disabled Windows Defender / Real-time protection.

Added GTA5.exe and FiveM.exe to Exploit Protection in Windows and turned OFF Control Flow Guard (CFG) for both.

Since you already changed CFG, I’d undo the custom Exploit Protection entries completely instead of just toggling CFG off, reboot, then launch Epic/Rockstar once before FiveM. A bad per-app mitigation entry can keep hitting the GTA process even after a reinstall.

it worked until i pressed join to a server, waited for it to download all of the plugins and suddenly it shows me this message again
