Discussion On Rockstar’s recently published modding policy

To the person above that said it’s because R* is losing out, I totally agree (unlike the OTHER dude above, lol). They see these big servers coming up, being sold, and selling in-game items (loot boxes, cars) – and they see it as profit loss. If those same players went on GTAO, they’d have to pay big money directly to R* for some of the same advantages.

It’s because this community is now sprinkled with greedy people that only have money on their minds. You can see this transition over the last year browsing resources – most used to be free, now everyone is making a profit. It’s less community, and more commerce now and that sucks.

Us “little guys” are hoping this doesn’t cause a huge backlash where R* ends being “ok” with the modding community, but if it does, greed caused it.

PS - I’ve never made ONE dollar off my server, but I’ve spent HUNDREDS keeping it running. How many of us are still out there?
