What is the issue you’re having?
CURL error 28 when connecting to multiple FiveM servers
I’ve been unable to join FiveM servers for several days.
FiveM opens normally and I can see the servers, but when I try to connect I get:
Connection failed: Failed to fetch server variables. CURL error code 28 (Timeout was reached)
I’ve tried:
- Ethernet
- Wi-Fi
- Cellular hotspot
- Clearing FiveM cache
- Resetting Winsock/IP
- Flushing DNS
- Checking Windows Firewall
- Removing my NVE/dxgi.dll/d3d11.dll graphics mods temporarily
I also tested the server connection in PowerShell with Test-NetConnection, and the connection timed out.
This happens with multiple FiveM servers, not just one.
My ISP also checked and said they aren’t blocking anything.
Could someone help me determine why FiveM is timing out when connecting to game servers?
What have you tried already to fix the issue?
I also tested the server connection in PowerShell with Test-NetConnection, and the connection timed out.
i’ve moved my dxd11.dll from my folder and my NVE.ASI because it said it was in the wrong place
What server did you get this issue on?
Love story v2 and The Palms .. idk if it’s other ones too but only server i’ve been able to fly into is The Springs

Additional comments
I’m experiencing CURL error 28 when trying to connect to FiveM servers. This happens with multiple different servers, not just one. I’ve tried Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and a cellular hotspot. I’ve also cleared the FiveM cache, reset Winsock/IP, flushed DNS, checked Windows Firewall, and temporarily removed my graphics mods (NVE/dxgi/d3d11). The CURL 28 connection timeout still occurs.
My ISP also checked my connection and said they aren’t blocking anything. Other FiveM servers are visible in the server browser, but the connection times out when I actually try to join.
The server connection test also failed when I tested the server IP/port through PowerShell.
