City of Zombies is a post-apocalyptic zombie server with RPG elements.

About

Feel the atmosphere of the post-apocalyptic world. Development team works hard to deliver most powerful experience of surviving in zombie reality. Whole San Andreas map is covered by grass, zombies and abandoned cars. Right now it’s already possible to kill a horde of zombies, find loot in dead bodies and cars, make a campfire, place tents and hide your items from other players.

Zombies
You will find a horde of zombies even playing in group of people. All zombies synchronized between players. We are testing zombies a lot, finding crashes and fixing performance issues.

Mapping
Whole map is covered by grass and abandoned cars.

Items
Find items in abandoned cars, dead bodies and just on ground. All items are saved in database and you can store them just by dropping on ground. Some items are automatically deleted after specific amount of time, for example: item campfire will disappear after 1 hour when you place it on the ground.

Weapons
Weapons have a recoil and modified Field Of View (FOV).

Who we are and where we are so far?
We are six people working on this project - mappers, programmers and others. The work we can’t do on our own we delegate to our friends. Together we are representing Luman Studio:

It’s been already two weeks since last update and we have a lot of work to do yet, but we are glad to share with you the status of development on 13th of January:

  • Tuned zombie - they are more aggressive and faster;
  • Added basic stealth mode, you can crouch and zombies will not see you in specific radius;
  • Added zombie sounds (3D);
  • Added zombies reaction on shoot sounds;
  • Added blips for triggered and dead zombies;
  • Tuned weapon recoil;
  • Increased FPS;
  • Added time and weather sync;
  • Added airdrops;
  • Added fuel system, fuel decreased dynamically, like in real life;
  • Added turning on/off engine on SHIFT button;
  • Added zombies reaction on vehicles, when you drive or use horn;
  • Added level/experience bar, you receive EXP for looting;
  • Added more loot places, now you can loot trash cans, wood boxes, water tanks, abandoned cars and zombies.

Updates are comming on server every day, our Discord Community is already 20 members and we will be very happy to see you there, Survivors!

Do I need to apply?

Server is under development and not opened yet. When it will be opened, there will not be need to apply for playing.

If you would like to take a part in alpha testing, which will be this month, you can write about it in Discord and you will receive a Testing Candidate role.

We’ve started closed testing for next 2 days and then we will post a statud of development - were added many new things :slight_smile: In the meanwhile, maybe you would like to share your preferences about zombies in this small poll:

26th of February - Closed Alpha Tests:

It’s been almost seven weeks since the last update. Progress is going well and we are encourage to share with you the status of development on 28th of February:

We also are happy to inform you that closed alpha-tests successfully finished. Special thanks to testing candidates, who have managed to find next bugs and proposed next improvements:

  • BUG: Ammo that is in the gun disappears when you restart the server, remember this

  • BUG: When you stand still and zombie is running to somebody or sounds he just ignores you

  • BUG: When you got zombies behind you and you jump on a small wall they run back to where they came from

  • BUG: Finger pointing sometimes doesn’t work

  • BUG: Sometime player stays freezed after he kill zombie

  • TODO: Add emotions menu

  • TODO: Close inventory automatically when you going into build mode

  • TODO: Add a health bar

  • TODO: Add possibility to craft bunch of items per one action

Updates are comming on server every day and our Discord Community is already 69 members!

It’s been almost five weeks since the last update. We are encourage to share with you the status of development on 6th of May:

  • Redesigned health, hunger and thirst UI;
  • Added weapon switching/hiding animations;
  • Added hands-up on X and finger pointing on B keys;
  • Increased character speed while aiming with weapon;
  • Added character creator and multi-character system;

  • Added base in LS library;
  • Added getto mapping and Sandy base in Grapeseed;
  • Added bahama and del pero plaza mapping;
  • Added vespuchi decoration map;
  • Added shop interiors mapping;
  • Added LSPD mapping;

  • Added crafting a bunch of item per one action;
  • Added level up animation;
  • Optimized FPS;

  • Added shops for buying and selling items;

  • Added 5 quests with different types of goal;

During the last 7 days our testing candidates made a good job by participating in Alpha Testing #2. They have tested early gameplay and wrote down a feedback:

  1. Discovered 7 bugs;
  2. Identified 6 improvements;
  3. Killed 2634 zombies.

Updates are comming on server very often and you can check it out in #changelog channel in Discord Community which is already 160 members!

During the last 10 days our testing candidates and administration team made a great job by participating in Alpha Testing #3. They have tested early gameplay and wrote down a feedback:

  1. Discovered over 50 bugspossible improvements and bugs;
  2. Peak online - 20 people on RU server;
  3. Made 2 live translations on Twitch;

Next stage is first closed Beta-testing. Applications will be opened this month.
