Cannot connect using external IP (CURL error code 7)

My game hangs on Obtaining Steam ticket… before it gives me this error:
Failed handshake to server [IP]:30120 - Failed to connect to [IP] port 30120: Timed out - CURL error code 7 (Couldn't connect to server).

My UDP / TCP is open through my router settings, and my inbound firewall rules. I can connect using my IPv4 (10.0.0.162), but not my external IP. All my GTA V and FiveM files are up to date, and the server file is latest on the artifacts page as of 6/17/2018.

I’ve searched around and cannot seem to find a fix for this issue. Please let me know if any more info is needed

GTA V version? Latest version of GTA V and FiveM client & server files
Legit or Pirate copy? Legit Steam copy
Windows version? Windows 7

It does:
Success: I can see your service on [IP] on port (30120)

did you also open port 30110 for the heartbeat?

I have not, but when I load the server up or connect via IPv4, I see this in the command prompt:
Sending heartbeat to live-internal.fivem.net:30110 and I can see my server on the FiveM servers list.

I’ll open 30110 in my router and firewall and see what results I get.

does this happen to people trying to connect to you from outside your network? because this would make sense if you are trying to do this within your network.

Your gateway device probably doesn’t support hairpinning/NAT loopback.
