Important parts

What is the issue you’re having? I am trying to play my fivem server that I run off a different VM on this VM and its not working. Is there a way to make this more smooth and compatible? I can get onto the FiveM menus but when I try clicking connect, it connects for a bit then fails.

What are you trying to do? Play Fivem? Lol

What have you tried already to fix the issue? Bought a different VM, Lol. I’ve also called Rockstar but they were no help either Lol. I’ve also tried researching it.

Error screenshot (if any):

What did you do to get this issue? Download FiveM and try to play it

What server did you get this issue on? Be specific and name some, ‘all of them’ by itself isn’t useful! All of them Lol. But to be specific, mine is United Nations Elite Police Department

Additional comments

Please help. Willing to try anything. My work pc has admin blocks on it and I don’t have my gaming pc right now hence why I want to use a VM.

Did you get any sort of error (timeout, firewall etc)

It said Failed Initialization, please restart and reboot your game and if the problem persists to try reinstalling it. And I did try all that and no luck. Otherwise I’ve only gotten the can’t connect screen pop up. It shows it’s connecting to FiveM okay but not from Cfx.re to any server I choose.

hmmmm not sure on the issue

original thoughts were firewall but its connecting to cfx so
It could be that windows server cannot run fivem due to missing dlls etc

Does gta 5 run on the server at all?

No, that’s where I got that first error of Failed Initialization. Is there any possible way I can add those specific dlls or any of the scripts I need to make this work?

this being windows god knows

have you tried running gta 5?
it should be more clear if theres file issues

Can I play it on a Mac VM? And yes, like I said, GTA V is where I got the first error of Failed Initialization.

Sadly gta is not on mac so i dont believe it would work
if you were to run it in a vm (unsure of possible issues with vm and server) i would recommend using a windows 10 vm

but to run fivem/gta5 in windows server thats where im guessing (because not many people have done this)

i would suggest looking up along the lines of “issues of gaming on windows server” and attempt to figure it out that way

Keep in mind if you do use a VM it needs to have the video card passed through in order for it to use it otherwise you will only have the VM’s generic display driver which will not work.

?

I didn’t know this!!! Please tell me how to do this???

Due to it being a server im not sure if thats possible

honestly I doubt very many people do know this

It depends on the hypervisor used.

Also, if its an actual server, chances are it doesn’t have a gpu to support it.
