I would like to know if anyone could help me and my friend set up permissions on the mello trainer. We have a Patreon page and we have decided if someone donates $2 they will unlock the supercars and if they donate $5 they will unlock supercars and planes.

You are not allowed to make profit off of fivem, it is against fivem’s terms of service. You can only accept donations to cover server costs.
We are only using it to cover the costs of the server. We just want to give people more of an incentive to donate and help keep the server going.
From my understanding, giving in game perks is the issue at hand. Not that your getting donations.

Yes, but it will take a while for us to gain their trust first.
Trust has nothing to do with what we are talking about, the perks of the donations must be accessible to the players that do not donate.
aka- in game perks are not allowed and violate the Fivem TOS.
It’s better to just allow people to donate (if they actually like your server they will) than to give any type of award to players that do donate.
What we are saying is that donating will speed up the process of allowing supercars and planes and helicopters. You are still 100% able to have access to them but after a while.
According to fiveM’s terms of service:
No financial profit shall be derived by the Users from any derivative of, or third-party service,
User Generated Content, or Game Server for FiveM, the Game Services, or other entities
stated in these Terms, except as expressly permitted by CitizenFX.
That means that you can have perks. of coarse this only applies if you do not make more then your server hosting costs (enough to derive financial profit)

Any money donated is used to pay for the server and strictly that. If there is an excess amount of money donated then it goes to upgrading the server via our host (ex. ram boost). No profit is made what so ever.
This is where the rules get a little bit Gray, As a general rule of thumb so long as you don’t store any money except what you need to cover the operating costs for the month, you should be okay.

You probably be fine if you changed it to just discord roles. In response to your first question, It is unlikely that anyone on this forum will directly help you through the whole process. There are lots of great tutorials for Lua out there, Maybe start here.
