Right, but this will only allow execution of commands that are restricted, for example RegisterCommand('commandname', somefunction, true). You’re checking if the player has the ace admin, which it doesn’t apparently.

command != all aces are allowed
command = any restricted command

Also, you can’t check if a player is in a specific group. You can only check if the player has a specific ace.

Commands on the client side can not be set to ‘restricted’. As there’s no way for the client to know if a player has permissions for it. So it must be a server sided command. Then it’ll work. You can just use a server side command, then trigger an event on the client. The ace will then automatically be checked when the command is executed (command.<command name>), so you don’t have to do it.

Those statements can be dropped right into your server.cfg above anything that needs it.

Alright well I don’t know if I am just special, But this is all great help for making a command having permissions.

how would I add Ace permissions to something that is written as

Citizen.CreateThread(function()

I believe I understand the permissions.cfg would be

add_ace group.example mgn-example allow
add_principal identifier.steam:000000000000000 group.example # Name

I am completely lost of how to link the server.lua to the client.lua in this sense, because it’s not written as a command, but more or less a passive action.

Hi there, im new in scripting and fivem overall and i have a ace in my server which allows all players to set themself superadmin and i dont know how to find it or remove it? any quicker ways then going through every file 1 by 1?

So, I’m attempting something along these lines. Unfortunately, it doesn’t trigger the part for moderators… Funny thing is that moderator is set correctly, because it works fine with vMenu restrictions on the same server.

Any idea what I did wrong?

Hi all, I’m curious if Aces can be used on clients.
I have a menu that can block access to the pause menu so, as a workaround for players wanting to leave while the menu is open, I want to add a disconnect button to my menu.
From what I can tell, Aces are for the server only. Is that correct?
I did notice that using list_aces in the client console will output a couple of it’s own Aces, is there a way to access these?

At the moment I’m just sending a request to the server to drop the player but, hopefully, there’s a way that’s a bit more elegant without requiring the extra code on the server.

With ace permissions is it possible to use a separate file and execute it from the server.cfg similar to how you have vMenu’s permissions.cfg and you use the exec command in the server.cfg to have it read the vMenu permissions.

Can i give 2 permissions to one player ?

you can assign as many perms as you’d like to a particular ID.
