Announcing Tebex Partnership - Server Monetization / Commerce '2.0'

Is there anyway to keep the old steam authentication? My whole server depends on steam: and I don’t even register player’s fivem identifier in my database so I can basically do nothing with fivem’s identifier.

Thanks for your reply.

I think this monetization share for the FiveM Developers is completely justified.
However I’m very concerned with the legal aspects of this step. Will Rockstar just allow this to happen, considering they sent private investigators to the gta-mp developers?

Are there any legal securities for the Cfx.re team to take this step? And what about possible legal repercussions against server hosters?

It’s already been answered, and is clear in the TOS. Server owners can accept donations through any means if it only covers primary server costs. PROFIT MUST go through Tebex.

See this is where my problem is. I’m all for people making money for their time and effort. What’s wrong is that Cfx won’t allow developers to profit by doing contract work for server owners but it’s ok for them to profit off of R*.

It’s nothing more than a money grab.

Couldn’t they just set up a site on Tebex that they charge people through for paid development services to meet this concern?

Do I understand it correctly, that as long as the player-to-server payments will go through Tebex, server owners won’t have a target on their back for using premium (paid) content, like cars, scripts etc. for everyone to enjoy and that way supporting higher quality modders (as CFX collective)?

Edit.:

Ok, so this is official statement from Tebex

Server owners must ensure they have the rights to sell or otherwise monetize the content they provide. This includes

Content provided by you
Content purchased from a supplier including full licensing rights
Open-source content with a commercial license included

So, I guess that answers my question to my liking, right?

Correct, to some extent. This however does not absolve the seller from any responsibility if they decide to sell their content as “FiveM ready”, however we have future plans to allow for this to be done in a regulated fashion as well.

This specific rule applies rather to the explicit part that no in-game content should be sold by server owners to players that is “just” a downloaded mod or a R* vehicle, both to not engage in copyright infringement as well as to not compete with Rockstar’s microtransaction system.

…is it just me, looking for help for 2 hours, just to discover (completely outside official FiveM channels) that you don’t only have to have latest server files, as Tebex asks you, but you also have to download actual Tebex resource for FiveM?

Please, write it down somewhere, so people will know they actually have to download something themselves.

Nope, that’s not the case! Their instructions are outdated and for an older prototype of theirs, not the built-in integration.

Well… Their instructions actually didn’t mentioned downloading anything. But it simply didn’t work for me outside the box, after downloading following branches

  1. Latest recommended 2430
  2. Latest optimal 2443
  3. The very last one 2586

(Works fine after downloading the resource manually, though…)

Edit.: cfx-server-data are fully updated as well

Correct, as the command is sv_tebexSecret XXX for the built-in integration, and it goes in the config file.

By config you mean server.cfg where other sv_ commands go?

Because it doesn’t work. And yes, I’m using quote marks

No such command tebex

Also, why isn’t sv_tebexSecret mentioned anywhere newcomers, like myself, could see it? Besides FiveM natives, is there some documentation, tutorial, anything? I looked everywhere I could, haven’t found anything.

It would go in the server.cfg. I couldn’t find anything in the docs either, but that’s where those commands go. Be sure you’re on the latest server build.

Does it support PaySera payment method? Otherwise it’s not even worth to get Tebex for Lithuania country servers. Most servers go under “blackmarket” to sell anything.

Hello @d-bubble,

Would it be possible to discuss with you about Tebex partnership?

Thanks

Hi I have a question, there’s a way to autorize our GTA server to donations without using Tebex? We have a Wordpress Page, so we can pay the taxs to FiveM if it’s necessary, but we want to use our web.

Have you a Wordpress Plugin Integration maybe?

You can still take donations however, only to cover the cost of running the server. You wont be allowed to profit unless using tebex/cfx commerce.

Still waiting for a reply unless cfx doesn’t care.

I mean you haven’t been banned yet for selling fivem resources. So, doesn’t look like there is much care.

You shouldn’t be contacting me about this regardless (let alone assuming I or anyone else will see a forum reply on a months-old announcement instantly), try @frenzy-renegade instead as seen in multiple recent announcements.

As to @ChieF-TroN’s completely unneeded reply, please keep opinions about “caring” and enforcement to yourself.
