I’ve heard that FiveM has received C&D’s from Rockstar and I do not know as to what the legal procedure/loopholes were made now to prevent another.
A custom CoD:MW2 client (which I won’t name) notably uses Tor alongside its client exec to anonymize client and server nodes, so that Activision has essentially little or no way to press a C&D against said individuals. I would suggest that the FiveM does likewise just so no legal action will come their way again from Rockstar.
Said MW2 clients have turned into a repetitive cesspool of self-referential jokes and developers pussying out after C&Ds despite the fact that Activision’s mean time between C&D and lawsuit is measured in years and only happens after making grave mistakes.
In addition, this project is hosted behind 3 proxies, each of which faster than any individual layer in the Tor network, with less burden on clients than embedding a Tor client like the latest CoD client memes do.
Another thing you should know: all these CoD clients are based on copy/pasted code from the original developer of FiveM - however the difference between the two is that while the CoD clients were based on leaks of code, and most takedown requests were from the original developer - not Activision! - CitizenFX/FiveM were actually open-source from the get-go, so we are operating legally with respects to NTAuthority’s rights.
