Tried doing that but when i tried verifying through target the path wasn’t accepted

GTA 5 online is no more, i created a new character and after that an error message comes up when trying to join a lobby. i believe the gta 5 online servers are no more

You are on Windows 7 not Windows 8, disable any virus scanners you may have and see if it continues.
Also, if you cant get online for GTA5 then you may have a pirated copy of GTA5 or at some point did.

ive got a fully licensed copy of GTA, I can get online on gta v my friend just game me some wrong info about FiveM being the only way to play gta online now, since I last posted ive upgraded to windows 10 and problem still occurs, the only thing I can think of is my internet went down halfway through the download of GTA V… could thaqt have corrupted the files?
its possible, did you try verifying your game files?
